Ever been to your doctor and asked for your lab results and they aren't in your chart? This is because while most office run on some type of EMR (Electronic Medical Record), those EMR's don't connect with one another. So if you had labs done at your PCP (Primary Care Physicians) office and didn't ask them to forward them to your Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, Hematologist, etc. The only person seeing the blood work will be your PCP.
If you have blood work done at a lab such as Quest Diagnostic or a Beaumont Lab these labs will get mailed or faxed to ONLY the ordering physician. If any of your physicians have access to EPIC, (The EMR that Beaumont uses) then they will be able to access your records. Unfortunately Quest labs don't have don't have a system physician's can access from their offices, so the only way a specific physician will get your results is if you tell Quest where to send them.

MEET OUR MHG PHYSICIAN EXTENDERS, AN EXTENSION OF YOUR HEART CARE TEAM! THIS MONTH WE RECOGNIZE MICHELLE FORCINA
Beaumont Michigan Heart Group would like to introduce you to our physician extenders. They are a critical part of the Cardiology team at Michigan Heart Group. The Physician Extenders work hand and hand with the physicians, making decisions on the best treatment options for each patient on a case by case basis. All of our extenders round on the weekends as well as work in the hospital during the week. Most of our extenders also have office hours and we encourage our patients to feel comfortable following up with them in the office. Our medical decisions are often a team approach that each extender is a part of and they are often at the forefront of each decision that is made.
The practice is made up of Interventionist (plumbers) and Electrophysiologist (electricians). The plumbers are located at 4600 Investment Drive, #200, while the Electricians are in the building next door at 4550 Investment Dr., #250. In addition Michigan Heart Group has two satellite offices to accommodate our out of town patients. One in Macomb at 15959 Hall Road, #304, Macomb and another in Novi at Ten Mile and Haggerty, 39500 Ten Mile, #103, Novi. Each extender is trained and familiar with both specialties.
Each month we will be focusing on one extenders achievements, this month we recognize Michelle Forcina.
Michelle Forcina, P.A.-C.: Michelle joined us recently in October 2012. We wanted Michelle specifically because she comes to us with a background in Cardiac Electrophysiology. She has primarily worked with Electrophysiologist and Device Clinics for the last seven years. She is office based and sees patients at Michigan Heart Rhythm Group all day Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Michelle works closely with our device specialist Jan Halash and Amy Douglas as well as Drs. Cragg, Williamson and Kutinsky. Michelle has an excellent bed side manner and we are finding many patients are choosing to follow up with her for monthly appointments.

Anita is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Her office is at Michigan Heart Group with office hours all day Tuesday and Thursday. If you don’t meet Anita in the office, you may meet her at William Beaumont Hospital- Troy. She is one of three main rounder’s for that hospital and when not in the office you will find her at the hospital.

Howard Hollinger, P.A.-C.: Howard joined the group in February 2000, almost a decade after the practice was founded. Howard received his Master of Science with the Physician's Assistant Program at Western Michigan. He is certified by the American Academy of Physician's Assistants and licensed by the State of Michigan. You will find Howard in the office all day on Monday and Tuesday he has office hours at our main office 4600 Investment Drive. Howard is our only extender that sees patients at a satellite office, seeing patients Wednesday afternoons with Dr. Gallagher at Macomb. When he's not in the office Howard is rounding at Troy Beaumont hospital. You can schedule any type of appointment with Howard, weather you need to be seen emergently or it’s a routine visit, rest assured you are in great hands. Many of our patients refer to him as Dr. Hollinger, Dr. H or Dr. Howard.

The Beaumont Michigan Heart Group Physicians
The practice is made up of Interventionist (plumbers) and Electrophysiologist (electricians). The plumbers are located at 4600 Investment Drive, #200, while the Electricians are in the building next door at 4550 Investment Dr., #250. In addition Michigan Heart Group has two satellite offices to accommodate our out of town patients. One in Macomb at 15959 Hall Road, #304, Macomb and another in Novi at Ten Mile and Haggerty, 39500 Ten Mile, #103, Novi. Each extender is trained and familiar with both specialties.
Each month we will be focusing on one extenders achievements, this month we recognize Howard Hollinger.
Howard Hollinger, P.A.-C.: Howard joined the group in February 2000, almost a decade after the practice was founded. Howard received his Master of Science with the Physician's Assistant Program at Western Michigan. He is certified by the American Academy of Physician's Assistants and licensed by the State of Michigan. You will find Howard in the office all day on Monday and Tuesday he has office hours at our main office 4600 Investment Drive. Howard is our only extender that sees patients at a satellite office, seeing patients Wednesday afternoons with Dr. Gallagher at Macomb. When he's not in the office Howard is rounding at Troy Beaumont hospital. You can schedule any type of appointment with Howard, weather you need to be seen emergently or it’s a routine visit, rest assured you are in great hands. MEET OUR MHG PHYSICIAN EXTENDERS, AN EXTENSION OF YOUR HEART CARE TEAM! THIS MONTH WE RECOGNIZE RYAN HAVENS
Beaumont Michigan Heart Group would like to introduce you to our physician extenders. They are a critical part of the Cardiology team at Michigan Heart Group. The Physician Extenders work hand and hand with the physicians, making decisions on the best treatment options for each patient on a case by case basis. All of our extenders round on the weekends as well as work in the hospital during the week. Most of our extenders also have office hours and we encourage our patients to feel comfortable following up with them in the office. Our medical decisions are often a team approach that each extender is a part of and they are often at the forefront of each decision that is made.

Ryan Havens R.N., N.P.: He started in August 2014, immediately after finishing an externship with Michigan Heart Group. Our patients loved him so much we couldn't help but add him to our team. Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Oakland University and a Master in Adult-Gerontology Primary care Nurse Practitioner from Madonna University in Livonia. He is board Certified by the ANCC as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
Ryan is in the office on Monday and Friday afternoons, he also rounds at Troy Beaumont. Ryan LOVES dogs, in fact he has 3. So if he's not in the office you may see him at the dog park with his Chocolate Labs, (Charlie and Snickers) and his Shetland Sheepdog, (Sassy). Next time you see Ryan ask him about his dogs.
