COVID-19 and Athletes: Return to Play Recommendations
With high school and college sports right around the corner many people have questions in regards to COVID-19 and it's effect on the body. What happens when an athlete has COVID-19? How does it impact the cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary fitness of the athlete? Dr. Michael Emery and Dr. Tamanna Singh, Do-Directors of the Cleveland Clinic Sports Cardiology Center, discuss the effects of COVID-19 and recommendations for return to sports. Dr. Singh and Dr. Emery highlight the expert analysis paper published by the American College of Cardiology here as well as advice they provide their patients regarding return to play.
