HEART HEALTHY RECIPE (BREAKFAST): CRISP WAFFLES

·         4 egg whites
·         1 ¾ cup soy milk or skim milk
·         ¼ cup canola oil
·         ¼ cup water
·         2 cups whole wheat flour
·         4 tsp. baking powder
·         ¼  tsp. salt


1.      Heat waffle iron
2.      Beat eggs with hand beater until fluffy
3.      Beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth
4.      Pour batter from cup onto center of hot waffle iron and bake until steaming stops, about 5 minutes
5.      Remove waffles carefully
